Who We Are
The Squid City Slingers are a folkgrass band from Duluth, Minnesota, playing original songs and unexpected covers that somehow sound like they were always meant to be played this way.
With fiddle, upright bass, mandolin, banjo, and guitar leading the way, the band puts its own spin on everything from folk and bluegrass standards to songs you never expected to hear played by 27 strings (until one inevitably breaks).
Featured by NPR's Great American Folk Show and PBS Backroads, the Squid City Slingers have become known for performances that feel just as at home on a festival stage as they do at a neighborhood brewery or outdoor concert series. Their shows are filled with musicianship, personal stories, and the kind of easygoing energy that makes first-time listeners feel like they've been listening for years.
